Study tour
You are introduced to some aspects of sustainability at Earthgarden through a slide presentation. It is a great opportunity because some ecological features are in our private space and are not normally open to the public. We can also offer you a garden tour guided in English.

The garden is within our 650m2 private property. It was designed to simulate natural ecosystems. Though small, our garden is full of biodiversity, inspiration and wonder. It is also amazingly productive: more than 150 edible species including vegetables, fruit trees, herbs, and wild plants throughout the year.
Chisa Uetsuki, the designer of Earthgarden, will introduce you to the charm and great benefit of a small organic garden. It will be a great chance to learn some practical techniques and principles of permaculture design.
Reservation is essential well in advance
Currently only our slide presentation and garden tour are offered in English. We have other programs that are offered in Japanese.

Designer of Earthgarden
Chisa Uetsuki has been a member of environmental NGOs for years and enjoyed taking nature-based tours to forests and conservation areas.
In 1998 she took a permaculture design course in Crystal Waters in Australia, a well-known ecovillage. This experience helped her design the concept of Earthgarden. Then she designed the building with the help of local architect and the garden of Earthgarden. Now she works in Earthgarden as a gardener, the study tour coordinator/facilitator and English communicator. In cities she teaches part-time at universities.
Socializing
If you have a permaculture design certificate and practice permaculture somewhere on this planet, your visit will be welcomed by prior arrangements. It will be a great opportunity to learn from each other.
